Zelensky: “It began with Crimea; it will end with Crimea”
As the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, said, the chief goal is to retake Crimea. But it’s hard to say if the Ukrainians are expecting to retake Crimea from the present counteroffensive.
Eventually, Crimea is the end goal. Ukraine aspires to restore its pre-2013 borders. But it won’t be easy to retake Crimea.
So, I thought I’d take the time to look at some of the logistics of an offensive on the Crimean peninsula.
What would it look like and is it feasible?

Fortifications are set up across Crimean shores from Yalta, Feodosiya, and Sevastopol to Berdiansk, and elsewhere.
These are meant to deter a Ukrainian invasion — an invasion Ukrainians favor.
In fact, polls have hinted that a large majority of Ukrainians believe that Crimea should be brought back under its domain; Russia is doing everything it can at the moment to prevent that from happening.
But why is Crimea so important to both Ukrainians and Russians?
