I wrote a blog post on why the Christian right is against abortion and it was fairly popular. So, I thought I’d do the same with same-sex marriage.

I used to be a Christian fundamentalist back in my teens some 10 years ago, so I’m speaking from first-hand experience when I address these issues.

My first book, Up in the Air: Christianity, Atheism, & the Global Problems of the 21st Century addresses many of these issues at length if you want to support my work and dive deeper.

NOTE: I will be talking about the Christian right specifically in this blog post, but many Christians agree with these socially conservative doctrines. Don’t come at me in the comments if you are a liberal Christian — you’ve been warned.

The only way, as I see it, for the entire LGBTQ+ community to have a place among the Christian right, is if Christians repurpose their commitment from keeping the commandments in the Word of God to a loving embrace of everyone, no matter the arbitrary “sinfulness” of their actions.

However, Christians should not make “minor” sins into “major” sins, as was pointed out above by Boyd…
