It is now official, Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed the much-awaited Ukrainian counteroffensive on Russian forces, planned for the Spring of 2023.

One problem for journalists, however, is that Ukrainians have requested operational silence when it comes to their operations. So, in this blog post, I will be outlining publicly available sources of information (which are also known by Russia, as evident from Telegram activity) to respect Ukraine’s calls for silence about the counteroffensive.

As of my last blog post on the offensive, there have been significant developments in the region. It seems Ukraine’s focus is now on Zaporizhzhia, in southeast Ukraine. The success of their recapturing of key cities in Zaporizhzhia will significantly alter the trajectory of the war.

Let me explain.

There are two important reasons we know that Ukraine has not revealed its most lethal tactics against the Rusian just yet:

First, Ukraine is still reserving its most lethal weapon systems. Leopard tanks are yet to have been reported on the battlefield with a few exceptions in Zaporizhzhia. This suggests that they haven’t started their most significant advances just yet.
