You're absolutely right! It's unfortunate for Ukrainian PR, but it's not like the West will stop support for Ukraine anytime soon. We still don't exactly know what happened with the Nord Stream II pipeline, but if memory serves correctly, the US thought that Ukraine was responsible. I don't know how this story developed, but the incentive is definitely there.
