Yes I think that with Trump and Hilary it’s starting to get difficult to discern that “attractiveness” level. It probably wasn’t because of their attractiveness that they got so far in the elections. Could be power, money, and a number of other things.

With Hilary, she lost probably because of the amount of mistakes she’s made publically. Trump was new to the game, blank slate.
