Why I Stopped Taking Psychedelics
In my early college days, I loved talking about psychedelics. I felt that they positively contributed to my curiosity and enjoyment of the small things in life that can become monotonous.
There were also stages when I wanted to take psychedelics because I believed they would be constructive in shaping my mind.
After a few negative experiences, and the realization that I don’t have much else to explore from taking psychedelics, I told myself that I wouldn’t be touching them anytime soon. And it’s been several years.
So, I thought that I would reflect on why that changed in a blog post since I recently wrote another personal post about my journey from faith.

There are a number of ways to train the mind. But to reiterate, the main reason I stopped taking psychedelics was that I saw that I could gain the same changes from other sources, like meditation, for example.
Both meditation and certain psychedelics serve a similar purpose, actually. You can use either to explore your consciousness and the nature of the mind. Typically, it can help to take psychedelics first to see where you can arrive through meditation eventually.
