Russia is the most sanctioned country in the world — even more so than Iran. They managed this because of Putin’s leadership and Russia’s full-scale, unprovoked, and illegal invasion of Ukraine in late February of 2022.

With Russia’s recent missile strikes on residential areas across Ukraine, many have been shouting and protesting across embassies around the world (and in the media space) that Russia is unequivocally a terrorist state. Calls of Russian terrorism have intensified. And the voices have empirical data on their side.

If you still have your doubts, let me help make the case for you that Ukraine is winning and that Russians are morally culpable for the killing in Ukraine.

It has been somewhat clear over the past few months — and definitely the past few weeks — that Putin is losing the war. This is what ultimately sparked his partial mobilization (a last resort).

In early September 2022, Ukrainian troops staged a remarkable counteroffensive against the Russian troops that caught headlines.

They managed to almost entirely disband the Russians in the Kharkiv oblast and at the same time apply tremendous military pressure in the Donbas and Kherson oblasts. Very few thought that they would be able to do so on two fronts. It was unprecedented, but they managed it.
