There Is No Military Solution in Israel-Palestine — 7 Disastrous Effects of Israel’s Destruction of Gaza

The Israel-Hamas war in Gaza has been catastrophic. We have seen a scale of normalizing horror that is exceptionalism of such disproportionate standards, that it’s hard for most of us to understand. And it has not helped Israel in any way. In fact, it has backfired as many analysts were saying it would in the first few days of the war.

The war has left Israel isolated internationally; it has emboldened support for Hamas; it has resulted in skirmishes in the Middle East between Iran-backed militias and NATO troops; it has revealed the great hypocrisy the US has toward upholding international law and rules of war; and so much more.

Despite popular belief, there was no ceasefire before October 7th. Indeed, Hamas and Israel were frequently exchanging missile fire in Gaza and meanwhile, in the West Bank, more than 200 Palestinians were already killed in 2023 alone by extremist settlers, making it the bloodiest year for Palestinians since 2005.

This war has revealed the extent of our echo chambers, the revisionist history the Israeli extremist right tells of Israel’s founding, the poor job we have done in educating people about the uniqueness of the Holocaust, and how very few people understand the term “colonialism” (which for the thousandth time does not apply to the Palestinian situation), among many other issues.
