The Key to Productivity is Less NOT More

  • The Physical (working out): I workout three times a week. No matter the duration, I only focus on making sure that I am at the gym (could be 10 min., could be 1 hour 30 min.).
  • The mental (this is reading for me): I make sure that I read 40 pages a day. I used to go big or go home. So I set my bar too high. I used to set the bar at 100 pages a day. And I could not realistically maintain that. I set it that high because of the influence of people like Anthony Robbins, who say that they used to read a book a day. Well realistically, if you want to keep up your reading you do not set your bar that high. You set it lower and slowly improve until it all comes naturally.
  • Blogs: I make sure that I publish 2 blogs a week. No matter how many assignments I have or how many days a week I work. And I on average work 6–7 days a week. To put that in perspective, my last blog post was over 600 words and that was a short one. This one is 760 words. I kept these two blog posts short because I have had a busy month with school starting and summer season with work just finishing. But still, on average I am still writing 2,000 -3,000 words a week including all my assignments and things that I do not get around to publishing. That means re-editing and re-reading these blogs as well, making sure that they are in the best shape possible to go out in the public.
  • Musical: I play guitar 5 hours a week. I play with 2 friends independently and with both of them I have ambitions in starting musical projects. With one of the two I have a gig coming up this weekend. Things are on the horizon because of the seeds that I am planting. I believe this to be the case with everyone that does these things.

And Before you go…
