That is how I’ve heard it been explained actually as well.

I wonder what the future with that will be as well. Perhaps a needed number of followers before you monetize your content. Who knows? Or maybe that wouldn’t work.

Either way, I think the system exploits those that don’t have a significant number of followers and supports those that do.

I’d have to understand it a little bit more. But I wonder (since Medium is a business) how this works in their favor. In a very capitalistic system, I doubt that this is actually going to be benefiting us in the long run.
