Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Yeah those good ol’ jokes. I spend a lot of time making that stuff up, so thanks. :)
Well, I would love to postpone making money for writing as long as possible, honestly. I really hate the idea of making money off of something that I consider a hobby. That is why I plan on creating something valuable, such as ebooks.
I plan on writing two ebooks for free. One of which I’ve almost finished. The other I am just starting to research. The almost finished one is The Reasons to Forget About Christianity and the second one is about how toxic celebrity culture is.
As I build my portfolio as someone that is willing to do things for free, I plan on reaching out to publishers and asking whether I can seriously publish a book. That is all things that I wish will happen.
For now, I am just working hard every day to make these things a reality.
It’s all about the work. But remember if you want to make money writing, you need to be willing to work forever and get no money. There is no easy way, no shortcuts. It takes a long time (dozens of years even) to make money. I don’t think I’ll be making a lot for the next 20 years — at least.
Set yourself reasonable expectations. Keep working in the meantime.
That is why it’s great to have a Plan B, C, D, etc. I don’t bet all my money on writing. For now, I think it is a great use of my time and I genuinely enjoy every aspect of it.
So, all you need is to realize who you are, what you like doing, and go for it. Persist in your ambition. Eventually someone will listen. Even if it’s just your friends, you have accomplished something. You’ve earned a reputation as someone that is willing to create things rather than drink. You’ve created a reputation of a diligent citizen rather than lazy consumer.
All the best to you! Let me know how everything works out for you! And don’t fear reaching out to me on Social Media! :) I’d love to connect.
