I wonder, Putin has been lucky not only because of luck, I’d say. There are institutional mechanisms in play since Yeltsin that have helped him. The oligarchs and their self-interest, for example, have bolstered him and his image. He is not a stand-alone actor that’s for sure. Thanks again!
