You are right with your distinction. It would be easier to assume in the case of Islam, for that person to be a racist, because most are not white.

Also, no doubt, some people who criticize Islam are Islamophobic. That is very likely to happen. But the sources that I’ve read seem much more reasonable and reliable when it comes to their criticism. It doesn’t come from a place of malice, but rather a sincere care for the people practicing the Religion.
