Thank you for the comment, RC. Yes, I agree with both you and Lance that there are significant problems with the two-state solution as it exists now.

The separation of Gaza and the West Bank is problematic in and of itself.

Many in Gaza voted for Hamas. But the children there did not. Palestinians have most certainly been radicalized but a small minority of them call for outright violence.

What Hamas is doing is clearly wrong. It's comparable to ISIS in many ways. It's a message to Israel and the world. And as of now, I believe that up to 1,500 of Hamas' soldiers have been killed as of Oct. 7th. They have received a just punishment.

However, this radicalization does not exist in a vacuum. No doubt many of their brothers, sisters, parents, children, have been killed by Israelis.

That is only to say that this is complex. Indiscriminate bombing of civilians is terrorism. Very few have been calling out Israel for their actions in retaliation, which are a violation of international law, so I sought to express that in this post.

Once again, my heart goes out to Israel. As both you and Lance know, I would never aim to write a post that glosses over nuance. So, if adjustments need to be made, please let me know.
