Struggling with Sexual “Sin” & Radicalism—How I Left Christianity (Pt. 2)
I recently wrote a post where I detail my journey from Christianity and a lot of people benefited from it. So, I thought I’d write a more detailed account in the form of a series.

Now, on to the year abroad I spent in Canada when I was 16. I struggled a lot with what Christians call sexual “sin” as most do in their teens. The shaming would shape me for years to come.
Let me explain.
I arrived in Kelowna on the 27th of August in 2013, on a hot steamy day. One of the first tasks to accomplish was to officially be accepted for enrollment at the school I found online.
I had a meeting with my grandparents and the principal. I was anxious because I came all this way. If they don’t accept me, then I would have to go all the way back to Slovakia, back into an educational system that haunted me.
After assuring the principal and some assisting high school teachers that I was a serious and diligent student, they proudly informed me that they would be happy to have me.
However, I would be the first exchange student who would also aim to graduate, so I would have to take extra classes…
