The demographic concern is definitely something I have been aware of and have somewhat followed in recent days. Thanks for highlighting it.
And your point about the fundamental challenges with short-term aims of politicians is one I share and have devoted some energy to. I find it difficult to come up with a solution to it, to be honest. Perhaps functioning in coalitions is one avenue, as it prevents the popularity contest between polarized parties that result from first past the post voting systems.
The economic situation is dire. If Nord Stream II is not put back online soon, then Germany will experience a concerning recession -- perhaps depression.
