Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová— Regarded as Most Popular Slovak Politician — Ends Tenure with Last State Visit to Prague
For those who might not know, the Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová is a Slovak politician, lawyer, and environmental activist who has served as the President of Slovakia since June 15, 2019.
She is the first woman to hold the office — and first woman to occupy a similar in post-communist countries. She is also known for her progressive views, advocacy for justice and environmental protection, and evident moral values.
She just finished her final state visit to Prague, as is custom for Slovak and Czech presidents, since Czechoslovakia dissolved in 1993 but the ties between the two countries remains strong.
So, let me share some brief comments about her final visit and what her Czech counterpart, Petr Pavel, had to say.
Čaputová ends her tenure when the party she formerly belonged to, Progressive Slovakia, received good news about the European Parliament election last weekend.
