Russian Plot to Assassinate Zelensky Averted

Plans to assassinate presidents are not new. We are all familiar with them.

It is also no secret that the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has been a target of Vladimir Putin since the start of the full-scale invasion, if not before.

This wouldn’t be the first time there was a Russian plot against a Ukrainian president’s life. Viktor Yushchenko was poisoned with dioxin, a chemical found in Agent Orange. According to reports, his blood dioxin level was “more than 1,000 times" the normal level.

In this case, the Polish man was arrested on his way to Kyiv on allegations of an attempt on the president’s life, according to Ukrainian and Polish prosecutors.

So, what do we know?

The man identified as Pawel K, was accused by Ukrainian and Polish intelligence was directly in touch with Russian agents who were directly involved in the war in Ukraine.

According to reports, Pawel was meant to “pass on detailed information” about Rzeszów-Jasionka airport in south-eastern Poland, near the Ukrainian border.

This airport is typically used as a gateway for international military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine from much of the West. It has also seen a number of high-profile visitors and aid workers and is under US…
