Russian Journalists are Key to Winning Against Putin
As much as we would like to think that external factors will win this war, most of us are increasingly realizing that Putin doesn’t care about sanctions, deaths, or political shaming.
Sanctions harm the people more than himself and his oligarchs; he can choose to never deal with the families of the 80,000 men who have died in his war; and he could care less what Scholz, Macron, or Biden say about him on the world stage.
That said, Putin cannot win the information war if he does not have his disinformation channels up and running. He has to keep the Russian public on his side; and journalists are key in that effort. Without them, his war will lose support.
We must support dissident voices.
Let’s start with the pressing question, who even supports Putin’s war at this point? We can leave politicians to the side for this post, and focus exclusively on the Russian people; who supports Putin’s war effort?
To be honest, it’s difficult to estimate.
Opinion polls and results tell us very little about the state of public consciousness under the Russian propagandized bloc.
