Joe, It Really Is Time to Go
Some of you might have had the courage to watch yesterday’s U.S. presidential debate between former U.S. President Donald Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden.
I was not one of those who did.
In truth, I find Biden hard to listen to. The cringe is inevitable as he doses off mid-sentence, forgetting his trail of thought.
Of course, Trump is not far off from Biden and, in many ways, is much worse. Think of his recent shark rant.
However, Biden’s verbal mistakes are more disastrous to his popularity because they signal his old age, which many understandably find deeply contradictory with the burden and magnitude of the Oval Office.
In this post, I won’t cover the debate itself. You can be the judge of it yourselves. Instead, I’ll look at ways Biden has been good for the U.S. and where he has failed. I’ll assess this distorted image of Biden and Trump.
Despite Biden’s achievements, I firmly believe it’s time for Biden to move on. The health of U.S. democracy depends on him realizing this.
