It really is interesting.. I agree. The referendum was so close and it was such a monumental decision that has screwed the country. The campaign for it was also entirely based on lies about the positive result for the UK, which no serious economist agreed with.

I mean a similar thing is proposed with Quebec in Canada. Imagine if Quebec cut off the Martimes (a number of Canadian provinces east of Quebec). ... It would make things quite complicated.

So, yes, I'm all for "democracy" and people deciding their course, but at times you really have to question the strategic thinking of those who wish to separate from a country. It makes life infinitely more complex in the short-term and there's no guarantee of positive effects in the long-term.
