In the article, I point out that the concept of “winning” is difficult to establish. If you mean by “winning,” the most deaths in an armed conflict since the Soviets in the 1980s in Afghanistan… then sure they’re winning. If you mean gaining territory, then, yes, Putin is winning. But Russians have lost too much for that to be classified as a win.
