I’m open to that possibility. However, “credible” scientists are often mistaken about issues that are outside their discipline. In philosophy, this is called an inappropriate appeal to authority. But cognitive psychologists discuss the incredible difficulty of translating knowledge across disciplines. So, any scientist acknowledging anything that is not empirically verified does not really amount to much.

The question, then, is what the empirical verification is and how they acquired it.
