I appreciate your reaction, Bob!
And of course I respect the disagreement. In my view, there are other avenues to pursue other than falling for the bait, so to speak, of Hamas, to bomb their military targets, with civilians used as shields.
Additionally, I think the fog of war makes the likelihood of us knowing to what extent the military targets are really military targets at the moment difficult.
Obviously, Israeli intelligence has been wrong in the past, and has failed miserably over the weekend of the 7th and 8th, so some analysts have questioned to what extent they could have verified knowledge of Hamas military targets. If they weren't aware of the large-scale terrorist attack (which would have required months of logistics and the maneuvering of military equipment leading up to the attack), then it is questionable to what extent they are familiar with where the military equipment is located.
Of course, that's all up in the air from the way I see it. I think that the thousands of bombs dropped on Gaza with 10,000+ casualties, 2,000+ dead civilians (as of writing) can be described as indiscriminate. The Israeli military has also killed at least 1,500 Hamas terrorists in the immediate aftermath of the bombing in Israeli territory.
But yes I'm open to changing my view. Thanks for the comment once again, Bob. Always good to hear your views.
