He is a personality psychologist and clinical psychologist, not a political theorist. So, when you read his political theory you are unimpressed because he hasn’t spent the last 4 decades researching it explicitly. But he has been studying personality psychology for the past 4 decades.

I am not proud enough to not admit that a well-trained academic with a long history in IV league schools is, in fact, intelligent.

He is. But that doesn’t mean that he’s necessarily correct. That applies to everyone.
