If you don’t know her, Candace Owens is a right-wing opportunist who grifts from one political extreme to the next to bolster her personal brand.

Her media strategy is one that her idol, Donald Trump, used as he was running for president of the US. Needless to say, it’s fairly effective with the Twitter algorithm which promotes posts with high engagement (positive or negative).

Apart from her narcissism, apparent from her suggesting that she could be on the US Supreme Court, she is also particularly vile in her arrogance. One occassion that stood out is her commentary on Ukraine, which was equally hilarious and sad at the same time.

So, what did Owens say this time?

For one, Owens claimed that “Ukraine wasn’t a thing until 1989.” And her justification? Well, they “speak Russian.” In her own words:

“It was, you know, they speak Russian. So, it’s absolutely ridiculous. And, again, this entire episode has been exposing to you how ignorant people are about the goals of Vladimir Putin. … He has goals. The goal is not just to get rid of Ukrainians. That makes entirely no sense. It would not be helpful for him.”

The internet had a field day with these comments because of their blatant ignorance. Owens has a history of not knowing…
