Brexit Destroyed the UK — Three Major Reasons the UK Wants Closer Relations with the EU

New polling has come out suggesting that many in the UK who voted for Brexit are regretting their choice to leave the European Union. On the contrary, new research indicates that twice as many UK voters want a closer relationship with the EU.

By January 2024, London’s economy alone shrunk by more than £30billion. According to these estimates, London has 290,000 fewer jobs than if Brexit had not taken place. Half the total two million job losses nationwide came in the financial services and construction sectors.

Brexit has become so disastrous that other EU politicians who promoted similar ambitions for their domestic populations, such as the right-wing populist Marine Le Pen in France, have now completely abandoned them.

Of course, it’s no secret that Brexit has gone horribly. And that is a shame for the people of the isles. The positive is that isolationist policy seems not to be working out — and I’m here for it.

So, here I wanted to briefly look at why that’s the case and how exactly UK public opinion has shifted so substantially since 2016 — and Brexit.
